Urban Family Events: July 26th – Aug 2nd

A Taste of Edmonton (July 19th – 28th in Churchill Square) –  Be sure to check out Edmonton’s tastiest festival and sample some of the great dishes and drinks that Edmonton has to offer. A new feature this year is the introduction of up to 5 gourmet food trucks!

Capital Ex (July 20th to 29th at Northlands) – Don’t forget to check out this soon-to-be-renamed exhibition! This exhibition features midway rides, games, family-friendly shows, nightly fireworks displays and more.

Mary Poppins Broadway Across Canada (July 24th – 29th at Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium) – Get your tickets so you don’t miss this stage performance of the family classic movie, Mary Poppins.

YTV W.O.W! (July 26th & 27th at Telus World of Science) – Drop by TWOS for some fun for the older kids. It features fun games and prizes and other ways to entertain the young ones.

2012 Corn Maze Opening (July 28th at the Edmonton Corn Maze) – Navigate through the corn maze, jump on the huge jumping pillow, visit the animals, or have a picnic. Purchase your tickets prior to July 28th and get $3 off the price of admission!

AMA Vintage Vehicles Day (July 29th at Fort Edmonton Park) – Enjoy family friendly activities while discovering vintage vehicles.

The 2012 Edmonton Valley Zoo Summer Animal Olympics (July 29th from 12pm-4pm at the Edmonton Valley Zoo) – Celebrate the Summer Olympics at the zoo and take part in athletic activities, crafts, a petting zoo, airbrushed tattoos and more.

Alberta Water Quality Awareness Day (July 29th from 1pm-4pm at John Janzen Nature Centre) – Learn about the quality of our local water with water quality test kits.

Jurassic Forest’s 2nd Birthday (July 30th at Jurassic Forest) – Visit the dinosaurs and join Jurassic Forest as they celebrate their 2nd birthday.

Family Nature Night (August 1st from 6:30pm – 8pm at  Twin Brooks District and Nature Area) – Every Wednesday night until August 29th, take part in a free Family Nature Night where you will explore nature and maybe even learn a thing or two about our natural environment.

See a movie with your newborn/infant in a baby-friendly environment with the Stars & Strollers features (held in Edmonton on Wednesdays & Thursdays).
